Communications Committee

Description: The Communications Committee strives to support the various ways in which the members of the MHR family communicate.

Charter: To develop and organize effective modes of communication to promote awareness of MHR’s programs, service opportunities and useful resources, and facilitate sharing of information between groups within the parish and the larger community, to further the mission of the parish community.

Ideal Members: Ideal members would be parishioners with an interest and/or related background in writing, editing and proofreading. Knowledge of HTML, website design or any related online publishing software would be helpful, but not necessary.

Tasks:

  • Determine how we best keep the parish informed of issues, topics and events that take place within the parish.
  • Assess current communications vehicles for effectiveness and recommend changes to address the needs of a diverse parish.

The Communications Group was formed, October 2004. It was part of the parish leadership bodies formed during the Parish Assessment and Renewal Process undertaken by the parish that year.

Activities: Parish website, design of weekly print advertising, design of the Parish Bulletin.
