MHR Parish Advent Vespers Services
Tuesday, December 19, 7:30pm
Speaker will be Fr. David S. Matz, CPPS

Fr. Matz is a Missionary of the Precious Blood of the Kansas City Province. He is currently studying at Pacific School of Religion at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, where he resides. He is studying for a Doctor of Ministry degree focusing on LGBT issues. In his life as a missionary, he has worked with Spanish-speaking persons, in hospice with persons who are dying, and as a national director of a lay associates program, the Precious Blood Companions. He hopes to return to the Midwest to advocate for and to create safe spaces for dialogue between the LGBT communities and the secular and religious communities of the area.

MHR AIDS Support Group

• Emmanuel Gifts for persons with HIV/AIDS are due back this Sunday to help ensure delivery before Christmas. If you have not
returned your gift please do so on Monday, December 18, between 8 am and 5 pm. Gifts can be brought to the Church, Rectory or Support Group Office.
• It’s time to start thinking about your New Year’s resolution… How about joining our great team of dedicated volunteers in2007? Many opportunities are available to directly assist clients, help with phone support, be “on-call” for occasional help, share a special talent or expertise, Board participation, assist with special projects and events, etc. Give us a call:415-863-1581.
• Thank you for donating your unwanted usable clothing and household goods to the Community Thrift Store at 623 Valencia (between 17 & 18th) and mentioning that MHR AIDS Support Group is your charity (Charity #242). We receive a percentage from your sold items.

Christmas is coming to Wednesday Suppers

We will have our special Christmas dinner on December 20. If you’d like to help us out by volunteering or bringing dessert, our guests would be especially grateful. The desserts they love best are pumpkin or pecan pies – but anything sweet is great. For more information, contact Ron Pacheco at suppers@mhr.org.

Archdiocesan Directory

The Archdiocese directory for 2007 is available for those who would like to have a copy. They can be found at the entrance of the Church.

Saint Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conference

• You may bring Men’s clothing items and linen/sheets for donation to our Annual Advent Drive to the Church and place them in the SVdP barrel at the entrance of the Church. Thank you to those who donated already.
• The SVdP Winter Shelter Meal Program is this Monday and Tuesday, December 18-19 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Contact Andy Whelan through the Parish Office at 415-863-6259 to volunteer.

From the Parish Office

• The Parish Office will be closed from December 22, to December 26, for the Christmas holidays.
• Please submit bulletin items for the December 30-31 bulletin and the January 6-7 bulletin on or before December 20. Indicate for which weekend it is.
• As a registered Parishioner at Most Holy Redeemer, you are entitled to receive the Catholic San Francisco paper for free. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to start receiving this paper or if you would like to discontinue receiving it.

From the Garden Volunteers

• The garden volunteers are asking for your help in providing flowers in the Church this Christmas Season. Please take advantage of the Flower Offering Envelopes available by the entrance of the Church. They relay their gratefulness and thanks to those who have given already.
• Come and enjoy the garden and possibly help with light garden work every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 am until noon.
