Eucharistic Ministry Training

If you would like to be a Eucharistic Minister at our liturgies or would like to serve the homebound by bringing communion to them, the Archdiocese is sponsoring a
training on October 20 (and November 17 for homebound ministry). For more details, please call Pete Toms at 415-863-1581.

• The Parish Pastoral Council has scheduled the first Town Hall Meeting for Sunday, November 4, after the 10 am Mass. Town Hall meetings are organized by the
Pastoral Council to keep parishioners informed and to hear their concerns, needs, and initiatives. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Castro Street Fair

We would like to thank the Young Adult Group for staffing the parish information booth at the Castro Street fair. Thank you also to the Support Group for facilitating the parish’s presence in this neighborhood celebration.

MHR AIDS Support Group

• A special Thank You to the 30 generous volunteers who assisted us last Sunday at the Castro Street Fair to raise much needed program funds. Your sacrifice of
time and sensitivity to our mission is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much.
• The next Retreat For Persons with HIV/AIDS at Catherine’s House in the Sierra Foothills is
on October 22-25. For reservations, call tollfree 888-644-4584. Transportation is provided and scholarships to cover a minimal donation are available from the Support Group.
• OKTOBERFEST – Sunday, October 28. Save the date for the first MHR ASG Oktoberfest in our Parish “Beer” Garden. 12 Noon - 3 pm. All proceeds benefit our AIDS Support Group programs. Questions? 415-863-1581.

Treasury Notes

• One of the ways to contribute financially to MHR is through automated electronic contributions. Kindly call the Parish Office if you would like to start contributing electronically.
• Next week’s second collection is for World Mission Sunday. Please use the envelopes by the pews and the entrance of the Church.

In Memoriam

• The memorial for the dead envelopes are available by the entrance of the Church. Please send them back to the Parish Office by Monday, October 29.
• We have an obituary section in our parish website at www.mhr.org. If you have a loved one who was a
member of MHR and who you would like memorialized on our web site, please compose a statement of that person's life and other information that you would like to include, and we will do our best to include it on the web site. If you have a photo of your loved one (on paper or electronic form) we can include that as well.
Submission for this as for any other submissions to the web site should be sent to mhr-webadmin@mhr.org or to the Parish Office, attn: MHR Web Admin.

Parking Lot Fundraiser

Please note that the Parking Lot will be closed from late afternoon of Friday, October 26, and from afternoon of Saturday, October 27, as well as Halloween Night, October 31. The parking lot fundraiser will be done this year by the Young Adult Group.

MHR Has Gone Mobile!

Ever been walking down Market Street wondering what time the next event at MHR starts? Or what parish events will be taking place in the coming weeks? Sure you have! Now there’s no need to be concerned about missing a thing! As an adjunct to our parish web site, you can now keep up to date with parish news, meetings and general information via your web-enabled cell phone. Point your
cell phone’s browser to http://mobile.mhr.org for a cell phone-optimized version of the parish web site. This mobile version has been created according to the international standards for mobile devices. It should be readable from any device capable of downloading the news from the Internet, brought to you by the MHR Communications Committee.

From the Capital Campaign Committee

• The theme for this year’s launching of the Second Century Campaign is “Bridging the Gap.” The members of the committee are: Melton Castro, Matt Dorsey, Bob Gajewski, Roz Gallo, Ron Pacheco, Cathy Squeri, Tony Vela, and Fr. Steve.
• The Campaign Roll Out is scheduled for next week, October 20-21. More details to follow.
